24V LiFePO4 Batteries for Trolling Motors and Off-Grid Systems

A 24V bank moves the same power at half the current of a 12V system, which means thinner cables, cooler connections and less voltage drop over a long run. It is the usual choice for 24V trolling motors, larger RV inverters and small off-grid setups that have outgrown 12V.

How to choose the capacity. Multiply amp-hours by 25.6V for usable energy — a 100Ah pack holds about 2.56kWh, a 314Ah pack about 8.04kWh. For a trolling motor, match the amp-hour rating to how many hours you actually run at cruising speed; for an inverter load, work backwards from watts × hours.

Native 24V pack vs two 12V in series. Wiring two 12V batteries in series gives you 24V, but a purpose-built 24V pack has one BMS balancing every cell instead of two BMSs working blind to each other. Fewer failure points, and one app to check.

Bluetooth models report state of charge, voltage and cell temperature to your phone.
